We get a lot of questions from people who wonder how to find out if an e-mail is a hoax, or if it is true.  We've all gotten e-mails with warnings about all sorts of things, or giving instructions for a too good to be true offer.  If you want the facts, there is a great site that will tell you what is true, what is urban legend, and what is just plain hoax.  The site is maintained by Barbara and David Mikkelson.  They do not claim to be the ultimate authority on any topic, but we have found their site to be very informational, and it has become a well known site for verifying the accuracy, or inaccuracy of many things floating around the Internet.  They keep the site updated and offer information on a wide variety of subjects.  Be sure and check out the Hot 25.  This section shows the top 25 currently circulating the internet, as determined by frequency of access, user searches, reader e-mail, and media coverage.  You may want to subscribe to the newsletter and recieve weekly information about updates to the site.  We rate Snopes as Outtasite!
