1.Green is Good:
Consumers are interested in Non-toxic, energy efficient, sustainable wood,
low environmental impact, alternative energy, recycled and organic.
2. Hip, Stylish
Baby Clothes and Accessories: This trend may be due to all the
recent births by celebrities.
3. Personal Content: Consumers of all ages are creating
(words, pictures, videos) and sharing it. Technology is in, but also
longhand journal writing is back.
4. Live/Work Real Estate: Gen Y's and boomers are buying
and renting places where they can work and live. This means increased
furniture and products sales.
5. Local Produce: Fad diets are out, eating locally
produced vegetables is in.
6. Healthy Technology: Using technology to track and
control health conditions.
7. Engineered Pets: Pets that won't cause allergies.
Pets bred to families specifications.
8. Experiential Gifting: People are getting original with
gifting. What's in - spa gift certificates, restaurant gift
certificates, cooking classes.
9. Comfort Food Cooking: Rachel Ray inspires us to try
new things. The Food channel shows us more.
10. Innovative Travel: Everyone is traveling.
Because of the airline restrictions look for lots of products in 3 ounce
size. Lots of specialized travel-oriented products and Eco Travel
packages.
