Facebook

We're all hearing a lot about Facebook - both good and bad.  We think Facebook is great, if used the right way. Facebook is a social networking website that allows friends to communicate by updating their status and posting pictures or responding to comments made by others. 

To sign up for a Facebook account, all you need is an e-mail address.  You must use your correct name.  Go to www.facebook.com to create an account.  Create a user name and password and provide a valid e-mail address.  That's it!  Once your account is created, you can upload a profile picture, or you don't have to.  To find friends, you can use the search feature.  Many of your friends are probably already on Facebook, so they will be easy to find, especially if you know their e-mail address.  Facebook also has a feature that will search your address book (with your permission) to see how many people you know that are already on Facebook. Be sure to go to the "Account" tab to control your privacy preferences.

Once you have created your account, start networking with friends.  Post a status, or just read the status of your friends.  Upload photos to share if you like, or just look through the photos your friends post.  You can be as active or as visible as you chose.  If you like the chat feature, you can chat with friends live.  If you prefer to be more anonymous, you may set your status to private.
